Museum Films
Royal ArmouriesWe were asked by the Royal Armouries to produce a 20 minute film to be shown in their museum galleries, called ‘How A Man Schall Be Armyd’. The film to show how a knight would be armed in complete armour from four distinct time periods (11th century, 13th century, late 14th and late 15th century). The film to demonstrate both how armour developed throughout the Middle Ages, and how it works to protect the wearer. |
Coventry Festival of MotoringWe have produced a number of promotional films for the Coventry Transport Museum. We were commissioned to create two short films about the Festival of Motoring, the biggest festival of its kind in Europe, that could be used to promote the event in future years. The first film was designed to promote the event to the general public, and the second to show potential commercial sponsors. By creating a fast paced edit, cutting dynamically shot footage with visitor interview clips, we were able to deliver two exciting films that capture the excitement and the essence of the festival. |
Leather In LifeThe Trustees of The Museum of Leathercraft commissioned Definition Media to make a film about their collection and their plans to create the Leather in Life Centre. We filmed key exhibits, interviewed a number of the trustees and filmed the listed art-deco building. Definition Media also produced 3D animation to illustrate some of the more futuristic design aspects of the new centre. The film is being used to help with the trustees fund raising efforts. |
War of the Roses - ISimply Media Home Entertainment asked us to produce and edit a three-hour documentary series on the War Of The Roses. The documentary is being released in the UK and North America. The production involved sourcing and filming interviews with leading academics and historians; studying skeletons of fallen soldiers in a ‘CSI’ style with forensic archaeologists; combat demonstrations at the Royal Armouries in Leeds; visits to the battlefields; and filming ballistics tests to see the effects of different weapons and the armour used to combat them. |
War of the Roses - IIThe most crucial thing is that the films are engaging and hold the viewers’ interest, and that principle applies to every film we make. |
